Phase 2. Great news that Phase 2 is due to start this week. A copy of the plans can be downloaded by clicking here. Halls will be back with us, and aiming to finish in 4-5 weeks. Most of the work will be outside this time (south side), so won’t disrupt us, but there will be some snagging work to be done inside as well from Phase 1. Then, hopefully on to Phase 3, which will mainly be our bid for lottery funding to do the roof.
Happy birthday Karl, who is 9 today (Sorry not to be with you - C)
True Colours. Forms for the final show (June 30th 6.30-8 pm) at the back of Church. Do complete, and leave on the table for Anne & Chris to collect.
PRADA. Following on immediately from True Colours, there will be evening events organized by Prada for children of all ages! Starting July 1st, there will be Tues: Salsa 6-7pm/Weds: Street Dance 5-7pm/Thurs: Boxercise 5.30-6.30pm/Fri: Musical theatre 5.30-7.30pm.
Growth Group meeting on Wednesday at Antoine & Jo’s house (140 Summergangs) @ 7.30 p.m. All welcome - do come if you can.
Enneagram Day. The second of our two Enneagram Days will be on Friday (27th) 10-4 pm. It should be a great day, and very informative (as was the last one). If you know nothing about Enneagram, it’s probably best to wait until the next opportunity – probably early October. Flyers on the table at the back.
Newsletter. I am committing to a newsletter in July for distribution in SWW (Southcoates West Ward), and would appreciate an article from YOU - please! Up to 200 words would be fine. This was discussed last year, but never happened. I’m thinking it’ll be two sides of A4 to reduce photocopying costs. PCC meeting on Monday (7.30pm) at St John’s.
Next Sunday Morning Worship service (10.30).

Phase 2. Great news that Phase 2 is going to start shortly – next week in fact! Halls will be back with us, and aiming to finish in 4-5 weeks. True Colours. Sadly, this project will be coming to an end on Monday June 30th, when there will be a final show (6.30-8 pm) put on by the children, and to which we’re all invited. There are forms at the back of Church. Do complete, and leave on the table for Anne & Chris to collect.

Churchwardens. Each year our Churchwardens are required to make certain statements of commitment in the presence of the Archdeacon. Sharon has already done hers. Steve will today (but without the Archdeacon). We’re grateful to both for all they do.
Next Sunday Ann & I are away, but Nick Whetton the prison chaplain will be with you instead. The services will be as usual – Holy Communion (9.30), All Age Worship (10.30). Happy birthday for that day to Karl Carter, who will be 9.

Notices – week beginning 1/06/08
Confirmation. Bethany and Nick Carter are today being confirmed at St. Michael’s, Marfleet Lane by the Bp of Hull. Time: 6.30 p.m. If you can, do come and support them.
Sat 7th June Wildlife Walk around Spurn Point. Moderate length and flat. Bring packed lunch. Meet at St Columba’s at 9am
St John’s story. Antoine has brought sound equipment to Church today so he can begin to record the St John’s story. We’re looking for say a couple of people to make a start with this today – an opportunity for you to tell what St John’s means to you.
Cleaning the Church. A reminder that the next date for Church cleaning is Saturday 7th June (9.30 a.m.-12).
Antoine is playing at the Reindeer again – on Sunday 8th June (8.30-11). Let’s see if we can support him for at least some of the evening. It was great last time.
Growth Group. Those of us who go to this would be really encouraged if others made this a priority in their week. Everyone is under pressure, and of course it’s an effort, but it’s definitely an effort worth making, as well as being an opportunity to get to know each other better, and grow spiritually (c.f. Hebrews 10:25). If anyone needs a lift, let me know. Next meeting: Wednesday @ 7.30. Venue: Jo & Antoine’s – 140 Summergangs.
Nomsa. As you know, Nomsa has been separated from her family for more than 5 years now, and is feeling their pain very much in the increasingly desperate situation in Zimbabwe. I have been concerned that as a Church, there must be something we can do, and we can. As well as putting money in ‘Nomsa appeal’ envelopes (see notice last week), members of DCC have taken the decision that Nomsa also should have the MaMaD Lent collections which anyway were going to alleviate poverty in Zimbabwe, and this year amounted to £411.75.
Next Sunday. Holy Communion (9.30), Breakfast Club+ (10.30).
